Grandmother's House might be Haunted

My son think there's a room at his great-grandmother's house that's haunted.

It's one of the guest rooms.

He feels a presence.

(This is where their Legos are being kept for now, remember my Lego sneaking story?)

So, I went into the room to take some photos.

Hoping I would catch this "presence" on "film."

It's looks like a nice room to me.

Although the rabbits seem to be staring at me...

Do you get that feelings too?

Seriously, I love my grandmother's house.
I love that she's moved to town.
And I don't mind if she has a haunted room...

as long as I don't have to sleep in it.

But I may use it as a threat for punishment with my boys.
hehe

Honestly, I think the only thing haunting that house is my grandmother's cat,
Honey Bun.

That cat is SCARY.

Don't look at me.

I found some of Remy's artwork in a pile of papers the other day,
and I had to scan it onto the computer.

It's a colorful, quirky, fun-looking snail!

He can be sensitive, so I decided to ask him first, before posting it online...
our conversation went like this:

ME: Remy, I love this drawing! Do you mind if I put it on the blog?

Remy: Sure, but I want 50 cents for it...

Good lord have mercy.

He loves to barter and make deals.

I don't know where he gets it.

Meanwhile...I told him that if he starts sleeping in his own bed,
I'll buy him a Star Wars Lego kit.

Oh, wait, I get it now.

Guess I shouldn't have started this when I bribed him with toys
to get through potty training at four years old.

hehe

Come on, admit it,
you've bribed someone in your life at some point, right?
Right?
RIGHT?!

Barbie's thoughts on a Star Wars gun ship

Working full time, parenting, and everything else I'm trying to do,
is kicking my butt,
so I've called in some guest bloggers this week to help out.

My first guest blogger: Barbie

When she stopped by my house to talk about possibly blogging, she saw my 12 yr old son, Donny's Lego Star Wars Republic Gun Ship...
and was horrified by the intergalactic transportation.

She immediately agreed to guest post, if I would let her talk about how she would change this gun ship into a more luxurious vehicle.

Donny received this Lego kit for his birthday a few weeks ago,
it was close to 1000 pieces, and it took him about two days to put together.

Here is one of the front compartments that opens, where there are some main controls.
Barbie thinks a full vanity with make-up, nail polish and beauty products needs to go there instead.

There are pilots on the wings of this gun ship.

Barbie thinks there do need to be extra drivers and mirrors on her vehicle,
but she would have them wear pink.
They would definitely help her cut back on accidents.

Another compartment that opens on the ship contains this bluish tube.
The tube is where they hold prisoners...or it can hold sick people and heals them.
Pretty handy double-purpose, huh?

Barbie thinks a tanning bed should fit in there.
So she can tan on the go.

This is the main part of the ship where passengers ride.

Barbie would love to have more passengers in her vehicle as well,
but she would install a full-service alcoholic bar and limo-style seating.

With surround sound stereo and flat screen TVs, of course.

Obi-Wan and the Storm Troopers think Barbie's nuts.

Barbie thinks flat irons and blow dryers are more helpful than light sabers.

Now, here's the rear of the ship, where a ramp opens and a speeder bike comes out.

Barbie sees no need for a speeder bike because it would totally mess up her hair.
So, she would put in a shopping cart.
a gold-plated, monogrammed one.

This is an opening on the top middle area of the ship where two recon droids are stored.

Barbie doesn't understand droids or recons.
But she thinks a moon roof would go perfectly here.

This is the top front of the ship. Where two pilots sit.

Once again, Barbie totally gets the need for several drivers.
You know, in case she needs a designated driver,
and so she can work on her make-up while she drives...

But, once again, she needs them to wear pink.
And be totally hot.

Barbie also thinks the ship needs new color, a more professional paint job, and plush interior.
Oh, and all those guns?
Like, strobe lights and stereo speakers would go there instead.

She also thinks Obi-Wan (the younger one) is totally hot.
I agree.

What modifications would you make to the gun ship?

My other guest bloggers this week will include
my mother and The Bug, my sister.

Any good questions or ideas for them?

Armies in my Living Room

I've mentioned how Legos took over my coffee table.

Well, we've finally managed to relocate them a little.
Remy now has his own Lego Table.

Hey, Annie, move, I'm trying to take a picture of the lego table!!

ANNIE!!

Ok, that's better. Here's the table.

Annie needs to be right in the middle of things.
Sheesh.

Annie, move!!

I have a feeling that SWAT team's comin' after me.

Do your kids like to put things together?
Do you?

I'd like to learn to sew or knit or quilt...
I can't sit still when I watch TV usually.
I have to be doing something else at the same time.

Except during LOST.
Best Show Ever.

Don't miss out on my New Year Giveaway!
Read this post, then leave me a comment a day for an entry.
Blog about the giveaway for an extra five entries!
Follow me for five extra entries!
Giveaway ends Tuesday, January 6th at midnight, U.S. central time.

Now, on to today's post.

I've shared my boys' artwork with you before.

And I've made you try to guess the story behind the art.

They're wonderfully creative and scary at the same time.

Well, lately, my older son has been doodling on himself.

I've started hiding the markers.

And then Remy, my younger son, created something very interesting with his Legos.

Very mysterious. Or not.

What do you think?

What is Remy's Lego creation?
Give me your best guess.

Did you ever doodle on your hands or arms or legs when you were younger?
What shapes or designs or words did you doodle?

Ttomorrow I have a very special interview post
about a very special birthday girl
that so many of us in the blogosphere just adore.

Here's a hint.

She takes photos of calf nuts.

I'm not really talking about Legos

Legos, Legos everywhere and not a drop to drink.
(Can you name what literature that's a misquote from?)

My life is full of Legos.
It started out small, just a box or pack of them.

I could handle that.

Then they began to add up.
and add up and add up and add up.

Sometimes they came with direction, a project easily completed. Other times, instructions were lost, organization gone, and it was chaos.

They started out fun. Good busy work.
And then they began to overflow.

They filled the coffee table and spilled onto the floor.
I began stepping on them and finding them in odd places through the entire house.

The Legos multiplied.

In mass they overwhelm me.
I don't have the proper tools to deal with them.
To figure out where they go and what do do.

Recently I finally wised up and bought a storage box. To put all the Legos in.

It's time to organize, prioritize and figure out what goes where.

Do I want to build an amazing tower?
Or a prison for the Webkinz?

I need to take back the control.

What metaphors can you use for your life?

The Force...in my den

So, I took the boys to see this movie...the new animated one.

They loved it, and now I have a storm trooper in my home.

They have these cut outs on display at Target...while we were there, my boys wanted me to ask an employee if they could buy one. So, I asked...and they gave us one for free!

I finally got the drum kit out of the den and upstairs to the game room. Let's see if we can get this dude to Donny's bedroom.

I'm reclaiming my den, slowly, inch by inch. Have you see the coffee table?
