Tangled

Last night, the boys and I went to the DFW advanced screening of Disney's new movie, Tangled.
We drove over an hour to Hurst, Texas to the Rave Theater.

It was fabulous!!  And Hilarious!

I loved the fiesty Rapunzel.
She takes the charming bandit Flynn Rider hostage,
they join forces and have an adventure.

And we get an explanation as to WHY she's in the tower
that's different than any I've heard or read before.
And we understand why her hair is grown to such lengths.

OH, did I mention it was in 3D?
My boys enjoyed it!!

The Rave Theater was a neat venue.

Disney did NOT disappoint.

Tangled was AWESOME!!

A huge thank you to Fellowship of Fools for the free passes!!

Go see it!!

***I was not compensated for this review or asked to write a favorable post. I won the tickets and loved the movie all on my own and chose to write a post because I enjoyed it so much!!

Wristbands, night scopes & a racehorse

We drove to a part of town we don't normally visit.
My bag was searched.
We were given wristbands for total access.
And, we were warned that they would be using a night scope during the viewing.

What am I talking about?

Thanks to being part of the BlogHer network,
my boys and I were able to go see an early screening of
the new Disney movie Secretariat last night for free!

It was amazing!!

Very exciting and inspirational.

Plus, we enjoyed the experience of getting to do something a little extra special.

We were in a HUGE movie theater, got to sit in the "reserved" rows

and enjoyed an INCREDIBLE movie for free.

Thanks, Disney!  Thanks, BlogHer!!

Wicked Stepmother

Yes, my boys (and their older cousin Daniel) met Cinderella's Wicked Stepmother
when we were at Disney in June.

The FBI's got nothing on Disney.

The FBI has fingerprint database that tracks fingerprints to help law enforcement solve crimes: The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System.

They house "the fingerprints and criminal histories for more than 66 million subjects in the criminal master file, along with more than 25 million civil prints. Included in our criminal database are fingerprints from 73,000 known and suspected terrorists processed by the U.S. or by international law enforcement agencies who work with us."

But, you know what? Disney World also has a fingerprint database.

To get into their parks, you have to put your card through a machine...and match it with your fingerprint.

I bet Disney World has a better and more comprehensive database than the FBI, whatcha wanna bet?!!

Disney's Grand Floridian : Turndown Service

We've just returned from a week-long stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

It was a wonderful, beautiful, magical place.

But, one of my favorite parts?

Turn down Service

- Comforter pulled back, pillows fluffed, lights lowered and curtains closed...
ice bucket filled and chocolate by my pillow.

Do you think I could train my kids to do this for me nightly?

Mice, Ducks & a Dog

This week's Camera Critters featured animals are Disney-related.
From our trip to Disney World in June.

They count as critters, right?

Maybe?

Kind of.

What IS Goofy??

Grab a camera and a critter and join Camera Critters!

Star Tours - Flight to Endor

Are you tired of all my Star Wars Disney posts yet?

Last one for now, I promise.

In Downtown Disney, I didn't ride my boys' favorite rides

such as

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

or

Rock "n" Roller Coaster.

They rode those rides several times.

But I did ride Star Tours.

You first walk through a slight hanger filled with droids hard at work.

Then you board a Star Tours Starspeeder 3000
and begin what you think will be a relaxing tour of the Moon of Endor.

But when your absent-minded droid, RX-24, takes a wrong turn, hold on tight as you careen out of control through the vast solar system

—bouncing around in all directions—

and come face-to-face with comets, a massive Star Destroyer
and even the dreaded Death Star!

It was a lot of fun.
I'd do it again.

Wicket's Warehouse

In Downtown Disney there was a place called Wicket's Warehouse.

Do you know who Wicket is?

He's the Ewok who saves Princess Leia on the Moon of Endor.

Well, in Disney's Wicket's Warehouse, you can buy all kinds of Star Wars paraphernalia.
My boys were in heaven.

Star Wars Mr. Potato Head

Storm Trooper helmets

Muppets Star Wars figures.

This photo came out blurry, but it's a T-shirt that says,

"When all else fails, send in the Wookiee."

Mickey and Minnie Skywalker dolls

Yoda.

Remy bought some of these key chain sized light-sabers.
They really light up.
and came in several colors.

It was a fun stop!!

We ended up getting some t-shirts.

Would you have bought anything?

What favorite movie would YOU buy T-shirts from?

Star Wars in Downtown Disney

It was a Star Wars Weekend at Downtown Disney when we visited Disney World in June.

This may not excite you,
but it was a source of HUGE excitement for my boys.

Because we bumped into Star Wars characters all over the place.

And my sons lectured me with Star Wars trivia the whole time.

I always liked Princess Leia's unique hair do.
Apparently it took about two hours with a hair dresser to achieve them.

And they were originally modeled off of Hopi Indian Women.

Did you know that Wookiees (like Chewbacca pictured here) live a really long time?
He was 200 in Return of the Jedi.

The actor who originally played him was 7' 3" tall!
The Chewbacca vpoce was made from the recording mix of walrus, camels, bears, tigers and badges.

I think this scary lady was a bounty hunter.
I know a real life bounty hunter.
He drives an old cop car and carries a gun.

Remy & his cousin are on an Imperial Star Fleet Ship! Yikes!
Remy, do NOT go over to the Dark Side!!

Darth Maul is CREEPY.

I don't know, but those Storm Troopers are kind of cute.

Have you ever made out with a man in a helmet?!
