Watering Hole

I had to drive down this one country road and find my friends the cows again recently.

I think I need to see animals ever so often, because I grew up on a farm seeing them daily.

and I miss that kind of contact.

Hi, guys!!

I think they remember me!!

Or they're just friendly.

Or maybe it's because I'm just standing near their water and they're thirsty.

Oh, a mama and her baby!!  They want to come see me.
They sense I'm a mother...and a lover of animals...

...or they're thirsty too.

Errands with Annie

Annie ran errands with me last weekend.

We went to the bank drive-thru, where they sent her a treat.

Then we went to the Walgreens drive-thru, where they also sent her a treat.

And then we went to Starbucks, where they gave her a "puppy latte."

Annie LOVES running errands with me.

Silly Pet Saturday

I haven't participated in Camera Critters in a while,
so here's a photo of a critter who lives in my sister's house.

Lollipop the Chihuahua.

She's tiny, and she fits in a baby doll carriage perfectly.

She hopped up in there all by herself.

Doggy Latte

I don't drink coffee, but I love Starbucks.
I love their philisophy and how they give back to the community.
And I drink their teas.
I have no shame!

Well, whenever I go through their drive-thru with my sweet Annie,
the baristas want to give her a "doggy latte."

They told me a story about one customer who comes through the drive-thru with his dog every day,
and his dog has learned how to put down the automatic window all by himself because he knows he's gonna get a doggy latte.

The addiction of Starbucks!

Here's some photos of Annie enjoying her doggy latte:

It's just whip cream in a cup, I think.

She enjoyed that!!

Cows kind of look like Aliens

I was driving down a country road today
and had to pull over when I spotted a large group of cows.

No one suspects cows of anything.
They're so big and sweet and innocent.

They could be plotting terrorism for all I know.

One of them decided to come check me out...

Look at this bizarre hump on it's back.
What's its purpose?

I think I know...

And look at these ears!

Why do cows need such large ears?

Radar detection?
flying capability?

And then I saw the tongue.

It was the tongue that sealed the deal.

Anything with a tongue like that...has to be alien!!

I'm on to you, ALIENS!

I'm keeping an eye on them.

How is a 90 lb dog intimidated by a 12 lb cat?

When the boys and I first moved in with my mom and step-dad,

our sweet Annie was terrified of Kachi the cat.

Eventually, the two made peace and ignored each other.

However, take a look at this photo.
Anything wrong with this picture?

Let's zoom in closer for a better look.

Hi, Annie!

Who's that sleeping in your bed?!

Bad Kitty!!

But, Annie's so scared of the cat  or totally wimpy polite, she won't make the kitty move.

It's Remy to the rescue!

He dumps the kitty out of the bed.

Kachi runs off and gives us his back, clearly irritated his nap has been interrupted so rudely.

And, there's a happy ending.

Annie is back in her bed once again!

They are getting along much better...but I think the kitty still wears the pants around here.

The FURminators

A weekend or two ago, the boys had to divvy up responsibilities.

They needed to scoop poop in the backyard
and
FURminate the animals.

The boys were going to split the yard in half and each scoop poop on one side.
Then Donny talked Remy into scooping the whole yard
in exchange for Donny feeding the dog morning and night
for an entire week.

Normally Donny feeds Annie dinner,
and Remy feeds her breakfast.

However, everyone seems to enjoy the furminating.
(boys and animals)

Do you have a FURminator?!

They're AWESOME.

It looks like we're torturing the cat, but trust me, he LOVES it.

Sometimes it takes two boys to FURminate one kitty.

You use it like a brush, but it helps get rid of all the extra shedding hair.

When you're done using it, it looks like a small animal died...
there's hair everywhere!!

Yes, Donny tried to juggle the FURminators.
Please don't try that at home, kids.

And, yes, boys will turn anything into a weapon.
