I drove for over an hour after work in the freezing rain through horrible Dallas traffic.
Unable to find even the HINT of a parking spot.
I had to park down the road and WALK in the freezing rain.
without an umbrella.
To Borders Bookstore.
Where my favorite blogger of all time was holding a book signing.
The Pioneer Woman.
Her older brother was there as were her two daughters.
The line to get her to sign your book and get your photo taken with her...was LONG.
After one hour of waiting, my group hadn't even been called...and the line wasn't even moving.
There were HUNDREDS of people there to see her.
I was shocked.
I had to give up.
It was so disappointing.
But I had a long drive back to my small town,
in bad weather,
and work early the next morning.
So, I wasn't able to meet her...or give her a pink cowgirl hat...or get her to sign my cookbook...
But at least I saw her smile.

Her writing and humor has brightened my outlook, her photography speaks to my soul.
