Hey, kids - what day is it?
Friday, of course. Which means that it’s time for me to post my weekly Selection o’ Songs ’n’ Such, pooched out of the redoubtable iPod d’Elisson.
We’ve finished our big painting project. The Mistress of Sarcasm’s old bedroom, formerly festooned with all manner of high-schooly wall decorations, is now a quiet oasis of loveliness. The painting supplies have been put up, the furniture moved back into place, dropcloths removed, switchplates reattached.
Now the only parts of the house with the original builder’s paint job are the garage and inside the closets. We have no immediate plans to change them.
On a separate note, this Saturday night marks the beginning of that most somber Jewish fast day, Tisha b’Av - the ninth day of the month of Av. It’s the most depressing day of the year for observant Jews...and while I am not the most religiously scrupulous fellow around, I will at least refrain from advertising any of my activities that might be considered not in the spirit of the day. Like listening to music.
Speaking of which, it ain’t Tisha b’Av yet. What’s playing?
