Do You Give Good Phone Voice?

Have you heard yourself on the phone?

Our voices sometimes change.

Mine goes up a few octaves, and I sound like a middle schooler.

I know others whose voices get all polished and smooth..

I know some women whose voices sound downright sultry and naughty.  

I know someone who never makes sense on the phone.

Some people can handle the phone, others can't.

I used to fear the phone.

Like panic attack mode if I was asked to deal with the phones at work.

Now, I still get a little nervous, but I can do it!

It's a big accomplishment for me.

I've conquered a fear.

How are you on the phone?

At work, at home?

Does your voice change?

They put me on the phones & I didn't burn down the company

You think I'm kidding?

How does being on the phone have anything to do with burning down a building?

Trust me, if there was a way, I would have figured it out.

Let me set the scene for you.

I was sick.
Pepto Bismal sick.

As in, I had to keep swigging The Pepto in order to keep all my bodily fluids from simultaneously combusting from my body all at once.


I'm at work.
Because I don't miss work.
I've been at the company for over four months, and not missed a single day.

Pretty much the entire office was in meetings.
So the receptionist...and the backup receptionists were all in meetings.

And they put me on the phones.

After my panic attack,
and another two swigs of Pepto...
I was ready to go.

Did you know they record all outgoing and incoming calls?

Someone, somewhere, is laughing at the calls I took.

But, you know what?

I didn't burn down the company.

So it's all good.

And then they made me manager.
