Chickens, goats, donkeys & a dairy cow, yes, please.

I talked about growing up on a ranch.
It was an incredible place to grow up.
We moved away when I was eleven years old.

And, now, I'm in my thirties...and I'm reverting back to my roots.
I want to have land and livestock again.

I have a plan.
I'm going to make it work.
Life's too short not to strive for our dreams, right?

This is what started it all.

Prickly pear cactus lamps and an antler chandelier

Say the title of this post three times fast.
hehe

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

I have a guilty pleasure.

I love, receiving in the mail, the King Ranch Saddle Shop catalog.

When it arrives, I lust over it.
If I had tons of money...and a house of my own...
I'd totally decorate it completely out of this catalog.

I love the earthly, ranch look.

I'd take everything in these photos.
Give me the cattle too.

I'd be in heaven.

The rich colors.
The lived-in feel.

I love it.

Where else could you find a metal, prickly pear lamp?!

Or an antler chandelier?!

Nothing quite says "Texas" like an antler coat rack.

Or a Zapotec pillow in bright colors on your leather couch.

This bed is calling my name.
"Rhea, Rhea, Rhea..."

Screw Regency or Victorian or any of those eras.

Give me good ole Texas ranch style any day.

Now you know my secret pleasure.

What catalog would you decorate your house out of?

If you want to destroy my sweater

My 12 yr old son is really into music these days.
He's made a mix CD of rock songs to play in my car.

And I usually enjoy most of his music.
Not all, but most.

Some of it is stuff I listened to in high school, like Aerosmith, Guns & Roses, AC/DC.

Good stuff.

Sometimes, even after I drop him off at school around 7:15am,
and I'm driving to work...his songs stay in my head.
And make me think.

"If you want to destroy my sweater,
hold this thread while I walk away."

Wise Words from Weezer.

I get it.

I can't always see my sweater, but it's there.
Brightly colored and bizarre...

and it's been unraveling.

I'm trying to learn how to sew.
